Death By Unga Bunga
Siden TrashPop har vært bittelitt bakpÃ¥ pÃ¥ bookingen i april, passet det helt perfekt Ã¥ skyve KrÃ¥ga-gigen med Death By Unga Bunga og Høygir inn der, nærmere bestemt torsdag 16. april! Siden Høygir sist var i Kristiansand for under et Ã¥r siden (da ogsÃ¥ pÃ¥ KrÃ¥ga, med Kalashnikov), er man naturlig nok mest nysgjerrig pÃ¥ “nykommeren.” Og siden ingen andre skrevne medier i Kristiansand gidder Ã¥ intervjue artister (med mindre de har Idol- foran fornavnet sitt) mÃ¥ man gjøre det selv. Fett nok. Og av hensyn til utlendinger som hungrer etter konsertinfo i byen, blir dette altsÃ¥ pÃ¥ utenlandsk:
The music you’re playing is kinda old, you know. And you guys are really young. What’s up with that?
- We are just 4 kids from Moss trying to maintain the great culture of garagerock that started out in the 60′s and kept out to the 90′s. Anyway, its a great fucking style of music, and it would be out of the question for Death By Unga bunga to play anything else, because everything else is shit!
You’re not even old enough to drink, are you? But you’re still playing bars and pubs. How do you cope?
– Actually, three of us are over 18. But just a year ago the times where different. Those times are over. Yeah!
Rumor has it “Bloody bruises and torn vocal cords are a minimum requirement for a successful DBUB-concert.” Any words of warning?
- The christian bible belt should stay home thursday night. I’m not going to say much about our liveshow but we are intense!
It read somewhere you recently got an international distribution deal. Congrats! How’s that working out for you?
– This is kinda old news. We have shut down this deal! They took our money.

The best thing about playing with Høygir is?
- They play fucking great music. Straight Punk’n'Roll with a twist of irish immigration to america in the 19th century. They’re great friends of us, and we are happy to share stage with them!
Did you ever run into Unga Bunga?
– We heard the album before the joke!
And if you don’t know the joke:
“Once there were three scientists who were walking in the woods. They were searching for butterflys. While they were sleeping that night a tribe captured them and put them in a tent. The first guy wakes up and sees the tribe cheif with a spear he says: Death or Unga Bunga? The first guy says: Unga bunga because I don’t want to die! So they take him away. Unga Bunga is a guy with a ten foot long dick and he sticks it up the other guys butt for ten seconds and then the second guy wakes up and he sees the first guy come staggering back saying: Pick death! Pick death! But the guy doesn’t believe him so he picks Unga Bunga. And then the same thing happens to him. Then the third guy wakes up and see the guy staggering back saying: Pick Death! So the guy figues that what the heck? And he picks death and then the chief says: Death! By Unga Bunga!”

Death By Unga Bunga er et fantastisk band! Jeg tar bilen, og kjører fra Drammen for å se dette med kjæresten min!
